Teatro Marikina

Part of Marikina's vision of becoming a "Little Singapore" is promoting Marikina as a center for arts, culture, sports and tourism in the Eastern Metropolitan and Rizal. To support that vision, Marikina has a new venue for arts and cultural exhibitions - Teatro Marikina.

Teatro Marikina is an impressive structure located at Shoe Ave., San Roque, Marikina City. We were not able to get in when we visited so I don't have pictures inside. I'll make sure I take some pics and make it available in my future post.

Also, we were not able to find a schedule of events but we got the news from Marikina tourism personnel that Rico Puno will hold a concert there in the coming months. As soon as I find schedule of events, I'll post it here.

Searching Google, I found several events that were held there like A Night of Filipino Classical Music (Harana sa Bayan) which featured the Philippine Madrigal Singers, some concerts and plays.
